Juventus CEO: Paul Dybala is Leaving

Paulo Dybala is seeking a new club after Juventus revealed that it was not renewing his contract.

On Monday, 21 March, Juve CEO Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed to reporters that Dybala – who signed with the Serie A club in 2015 – would be leaving at the end of the season when his contract expires.

“With the arrival of [striker Dusan Vlahovic in January] the footballing structure at the club has changed,” explained Arrivabene. “Juventus’ project has changed, and part of this change included Dybala’s contract which today was not renewed.”

According to reports, the agent of the 28-year-old Argentine forward held a two-hour discussion with the club’s representatives on Monday, but they were unable to reach an agreement on his salary. This may be attributed to his lack of game-time this season as a result of struggling with injuries.

“It would have been easy for Juventus to make a much-reduced offer but it would have been disrespectful to Paulo,” said Arrivabene.

With the likes of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid interested in his services, Dybala will doubtlessly sign up to a new club in the near future.
